Back in Oslo – after 25 exciting years
In May 1984, some 20 men and women, representing creators and publishers, met in Oslo to establish what was then called the International Forum of Reproduction Rights Organisations. 25 years later, IFRRO has become a leading force in the collective management of rights, not only in regard to photocopying, but also within digital copying and distribution.
It is with great pleasure I wish you welcome to IFRRO’s Annual General Meeting in October. Since 1984, the number of participants has grown considerably. We will celebrate the occasion and look back, but we will also take the opportunity to look ahead, as our community take bold steps towards copyright management in the digital era. This will enable us to secure culture and education as key elements in building civil societies.
We look forward to friendly reunions, fruitful discussions and strengthening of the ties that hold us together. Until we meet in October, this website will give you information about the different activities in the AGM week. Let us keep in touch, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions of any kind.
Welcome to Oslo!
Yngve Slettholm, Executive Director
